EP4DFE – European partnership for the development of female entrepreneurship

In all EU countries, women's labour participation is lower than men's. Women in the world of work tend to work fewer hours, work in lower-paying sectors and occupy lower-ranking positions than men. Women entrepreneurs spend less hours a week in their own businesses, unlike male entrepreneurs, probably because they also have to take care of family management. This leads to considerable gender pay and earnings gaps. In general, women are on average more educated than men, but those who choose the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, are in a decidedly lower number than men. These differences are to some extent due to deep-rooted traditional gender roles, but also due to economic incentives. In this context, women find it difficult to grow their business and stay on the market.

The project EP4DFE aims to encourage the inclusion of women in the world of work, through the creation, development and consolidation of women's enterprises.

By exchange of good practices in favour of female entrepreneurship is expected to transfer methodologies, tools and good practices, on the development and consolidation of women's enterprises, development of entrepreneurial skills, strengthening of support systems for development of women's enterprises, already tested in other contexts, which will accelerate the innovation process at the level of local.

Project activities (achievements):

November 2019 - project communication has been started on Facebook.

9-10 January 2020 - Kick - off meeting, Spinetoli (Italy). During the meeting project partners introduced their organisations, discussed about activities of the project as well as agreed on responsibilities.

January 2020 - logo of the project developed.
