Europe has been confronted with demanding needs in favor of environment protection and the need for urgent response to the challenges arising. EU Reports with indicators and overviews show that climate change is happening now and will get more serious in the future; however, the impacts will be much less severe if efforts start: targeted actions and adaptation to the specific circumstances in different regions and cities of Europe are an effective answer and response. The AGROS (Activation of Green ROofs Synergies as a tool for civic participation & environmental consciousness) meets these needs and comes as a training solution with a purely practical dimension. It concerns the supporting of individuals in acquiring and developing basic skills and key competencestowards the design, implementation, use & sustainable management of green roofs for the climate protection, the environmental action and as drivers in a significant change. The design & creation of outputs for the cultivation and transmission of the green roofs for all moves to this direction, while it enhances the individuals civic response to major problems and solutions - a sample of responsible participation as well. SHORT TERM RESULTS: -The participants-trainees will have gained the proper and update knowledge and skills on a variety of issues for their environmental capacity, the adoption of the green roofs and their responses to a responsible participation in the protection of climate -The trainees will have been equipped with materials and tools which will assist them towards their upskilling learning (digital learning, digital tools) -The professionals will be activated to more labor and entrepreneurship opportunities and contexts for new attempts -The educators will have gained significant capital from the materials concerning how to ‘teach’ environmental issues synergies and how to transmit knowledge and skills to various contexts and audiences -The communities will have been guided towards new trends, new needs responses LONG TERM RESULTS: -The local communities will have been enhanced and activated for the sustainability for their communities -New networks will have been created -Sustainable private and public management schemes (with labor and entrepreneurship content) will have been consolidated with the wider use of the green roofs.
